Aims of this module. By the end you should be able to:

  1. To recognise and understand the unique culture of the Irish Travellers.

  2. To understand the role of tradition within the Traveller culture.

  3. To understand the role of family within the Traveller culture.

  4. To give an insight into the role and use of the Traveller language ‘Cant’.

  5. To encourage learners to embrace the culture of Irish Travellers as an inherent part of national culture.
